Download files as a zip

Download all saves every file in the place you're looking at as one zip file, with the folders kept as they are.

  1. Open the client's Files tab.
  2. Go to what you want: All files for everything the client has, or open a project or a folder for just that part.
  3. Click Download all.

The zip is named after the client, for example Acme files.zip.

  • At All files, the client's general files and folders are at the top of the zip, and each project's files are in a folder named after the project.
  • In a project or a folder, you get that project or folder and everything inside it.
  • Deleted files are never included.
  • When two files in the same folder have the same name, the second becomes report (2).pdf.

Files are stored in the zip as they are, without compressing them again, so it's about the size of the files themselves.

Download all isn't shown while you're searching, in Deleted files, or where there's nothing to download.

Limits

One zip holds up to 500 files or 2 GB. Above that you'll see That is more than one download can hold (500 files or 2 GB). Narrow it to a project or a folder and download that instead. You can start up to 10 zip downloads a minute.

What's logged

Every file in the zip gets a Downloaded line in its Access log, under your name. See Deleted files and the access log.

Clients have their own Download all in the portal, which holds only the files shared with them. See Your files in the portal.
