Client files and your plan
Client files are on the Unlimited and Enterprise plans, and on every 14-day trial. They aren't on Starter.
On Starter
Nothing is deleted when a workspace is on Starter or moves to it. What changes is that nothing new can be added or shared:
- Can't: upload files (your team or your clients), share a file, create a link, create, rename or delete folders, rename or move files.
- Still works: opening and downloading files, Download all, deleting and restoring files, Make internal, the Access log, and revoking links.
- Links to files stop working while you're on Starter. Anyone who opens one sees This link no longer works. They work again, until their own expiry date, if your plan comes back to Unlimited or Enterprise.
- The client's Files tab shows only while that client still has files. The Owner (shown as Portal admin in the app for now) always sees it, with a Not on this plan note saying which plans include client files, Change your plan from the plan card to turn it on., and a See your plan link.
- The project page's Files card shows only while the project still has files.
- In the portal, Files shows only while the client has files they can see, and there's no Upload button.
Move back to Unlimited or Enterprise and everything is as it was.
Check your plan and storage
The Owner can see the plan on Settings → Workspace → General. Client files is listed with On or Off, and File storage shows how much your client files take up, deleted files that haven't been removed for good included. There's no storage limit. See General settings.
