Log time manually

Forgot to start the timer? Add the time afterwards from Track.

  1. Go to Track and pick the day with the arrows, the calendar or the week strip.
  2. Below the day's entries, click Add time manually.
  3. Fill in the form (see below).
  4. Click Add.

The new entry is highlighted in the list. If you filed it on a different day, Timebun tells you where it went, for example "Added to 12 Sep 2026."

What the form asks for

It depends on how your workspace enters time (Settings → Time tracking → How time is entered):

  • Duration (the default): a Date and a Duration. The date starts on the day you're looking at, so you can log a whole week without leaving the page. Use the − and + buttons to step the duration by your workspace's billing increment (6 minutes if you don't round).
  • Start and end times: a From and a To date and time.

Both modes also ask for a Description and a Project. Both are optional unless your workspace requires a project.

Typing a duration

1.2, 1:12, 1h12m and 72m all mean the same thing. Press Enter in the box to add the entry.

Rules Timebun checks

  • The end has to be after the start.
  • One entry can't be longer than a day. Split longer work across the days it spans.
  • You can't log time more than a day ahead. Time is logged once it's been worked.
  • The project has to be open. Archived or closed projects, and archived clients, can't take new time.

If something's wrong, the form says what and keeps what you typed.

Log time for someone else

Admins and the Owner (shown as Portal admin in the app for now) can open a teammate's timesheet from the timesheet switcher next to Day / Week (see See your day or week, or a teammate's timesheet). The button then reads Add time for and their name, and the entry is theirs. When several people's timesheets are open at once, the form adds a For field: choose who the time belongs to.

Other ways in

  • Press ⌘K (Ctrl K) and choose New time entry. It opens this form on today.
  • The form only appears in the Day view. In the Week view, click a day's heading to open it.
