Export your data to CSV

Most lists in Timebun have an Export CSV button that downloads what you're looking at as a spreadsheet file. It opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

  1. Open the page and set the dates, filters and sorting you want.
  2. Click Export CSV. On a phone it's a download icon.

What you can export

Time - Reports → Team time, Billable, Retainers and Margin — the report as filtered on screen. See Reports overview. - My time — your own entries for the period and filters you chose. See My time. - A project's page — every entry under Time on this project. See Create and manage projects. - A client's Time tab — that client's entries, with the tab's filters.

Clients and projects - Clients — each client with its billing, hours left, time tracked, portal users, last activity and tags. - Projects — each project with its client, status, billing, time tracked, team, last activity and tags. Admins and the Owner (shown as Portal admin in the app for now) also get what the time is worth.

Invoices and expenses - Invoices — each invoice with its client, status, type, period, due date, total, paid, outstanding and currency. - An invoice's page — the invoice's lines, with the project, hours, rate and amount. Every row carries the invoice number, so the file still says which invoice it is. - Expenses — the expenses on screen, with the date, client, who paid, amount, currency and status.

Settings - Settings → Workspace → People — everyone's name, email, role, whether they're deactivated, and tags. - Settings → Billing → Rates — Export cards for your rate cards, and Export people for what each person bills at. People who can see costs also get each person's cost per hour. - Settings → Work → Activity codes and Expense categories — the lists as they stand.

What's in the file

  • The same filters as the screen. Whatever you narrowed the page to is what you get.
  • Every matching row, not just the page on screen. On Team time the page shows 50 entries at a time, but the file has all of them.
  • Only what you're allowed to see. A Team member's project export, for example, has only the time they can see on the page.
  • Time entries come with who tracked them, the description, project and client, whether they're billable, the date, start and end times, how they were billed and the hours. The memo is included when your workspace uses it.
  • Hours as decimals with two places, for example 1.50.
  • Money as plain numbers, without a currency sign. A Currency column says which currency, and on Margin the Billed in and Base currency columns do.
  • Dates in your own timezone, except a client's Time tab and the Invoices list, which use the workspace's timezone, the same days your clients see.
  • The period in the file name where there is one, for example team-time-2026-09-01-to-2026-09-30.csv.

A share or percentage is left empty where it can't be worked out, for example a client who was never granted any hours.

Your clients can export too

In their portal, clients can download their timesheet (Export timesheet on the overview, or Export CSV on the full timesheet), their invoice list, and the lines of any invoice. They only ever get their own data, and only from projects you show in the portal. See What your clients see in the portal.
