The client page
Open a client from Clients in the sidebar. The page answers the everyday questions about them at a glance, with the detail split across up to seven tabs.

The header
Under the client's name you'll see their billing email, currency, tier (or Hourly only), their hourly rate, when they became a client and how many portal users they have. Looked after by shows who on your team is assigned to them, and Tags lets you file them under your workspace's client tags.
Badges next to the name flag anything that needs attention: Archived, Out of hours, Low on hours, No card on file, Past due or Payment clearing. Hover a badge for what it means.
Buttons on the right:
- Create invoice — opens the New invoice dialog with every project ticked, where you choose the projects, the dates and whether expenses go on the draft. Greyed out when there's nothing to invoice. See Create an invoice from unbilled work.
- Message — opens this client's conversation in the inbox (when client messaging is on).
- ⋯ — Sell hours, Invite someone, Edit details, and Archive client or Restore client.
The four figures
- Hours left — the hours the client can still use, with a bar showing how they've been spent. See How balances work.
- Tracked, 30 days — time tracked for them in the last 30 days.
- Unbilled — work waiting to be invoiced. Click it to see that time.
- Outstanding — what they owe on sent invoices, and how late it is.
Each figure is a link to the tab with the detail.
The tabs
- Overview — their retainers and hours (sell a plan, add hours, set the low-hours warning, and the latest statement of hours with whether it was sent), Our team (who looks after them; those people see the client's inbox conversation and get its messages), saved payment cards, Details and Notes.
- Projects — the client's projects, with status, billing, unbilled time and this month's hours. Switch between Active and Archived, or click New project. A warning appears if the client has a retainer but a project bills directly, so hours you meant to draw down don't slip through.
- Time — every entry for the client. Filter by Project, Person, Period, Billable and Invoiced, or tick Waiting to be billed. Dates and times here are in the workspace's timezone; if yours is different, the tab says so. You can also adjust billed hours here; see Billed hours and write-downs.
- Statements — every statement of hours the client has been sent, with who it went to, View, CSV, Resend and Preview current period. Only for a client that has ever had hours on account. The tab is flagged not sent when the latest statement didn't reach every recipient. See Review and resend statements.
- Invoices — the client's invoices and credit notes, with New invoice and Sell hours. The tab shows how many are open.
- People — Users who can sign in to the portal (invite, resend, deactivate, or View as someone to see the portal as they do), and Contacts who receive invoices. See Client contacts and invoice recipients and Invite clients to the portal.
- Files — the client's documents, by project and folder: upload, share with the client through the portal, send by link, and download everything as a zip. On the Starter plan the tab shows only while the client still has files, and always to the Owner (shown as Portal admin in the app for now). See Share files with a client.
The Clients list
The Clients page lists every active client with Hours left, Tracked, Portal users, Tags and Last activity. Search by name or email, filter by tag or by Billing, tick Include archived to see archived clients, and use the export button to download the list as a spreadsheet.
