Your free trial and what happens when it ends

Every new workspace starts with a free 14-day trial of everything in Unlimited. No card is needed to start.

See how long is left

The Timebun plan card on Settings โ†’ Workspace โ†’ General shows a Trial badge and a line such as Unlimited trial ยท 9 days left, until 15 Oct 2026. Only the Owner (shown as Portal admin in the app for now) sees this page. Once the trial ends without a subscription, the badge changes to Lapsed and the days-left line goes; the workspace is read-only until you subscribe. See Read-only workspace.

During the trial the card names Starter as the workspace's plan โ€” that's the plan you're on underneath. Everything in Unlimited is switched on whatever it says.

When exactly it ends

A trial ends at 12:00 UTC on the date shown. Stripe shows the same date when you subscribe.

Reminders before it ends

Three days before the trial ends:

  • The Owner sees a banner on every page: Your trial ends on the date. Subscribe to keep working without interruption., with a See your plan link.
  • Every Owner gets an email, Your Timebun trial ends on the date. See Emails about your Timebun bill.

Other people on your team don't see the banner.

Keep going: subscribe

Subscribe any time before the trial ends and nothing stops. You keep the rest of your trial, and your card is first charged when it ends. See Subscribe to Timebun.

If the trial ends before you subscribe

The workspace becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted:

  • Everyone can still sign in, read everything and export.
  • Nobody can track time, create or send invoices, invite people or change anything else.
  • A timer still running can be stopped.
  • Your clients can still sign in to the portal and pay your invoices.

A banner tells everyone on your team. The Owner subscribes from the plan card, and everything opens again as soon as the payment goes through. See Why is my workspace read-only?
